The situation has been worsening over the past few weeks, with vehicles often moving bumper-to-bumper through key junctions like Manik Baug, Rajaram Bridge, and Vadgaon. The already narrow roads have been further reduced due to construction barricades, making it difficult for even two-wheelers to navigate through certain stretches.

Locals say the traffic chaos is now a routine affair. Despite repeated complaints and the scale of the problem, they feel that the authorities have largely ignored the growing inconvenience faced by daily commuters.

According to civic sources, the flyover work is in its final stages and is expected to be completed before August 15, with an inauguration planned on Independence Day. However, citizens say they are more concerned about current traffic management than ceremonial events.

Many feel temporary solutions like proper signage, diversions, and additional traffic police deployment could make a big difference until the flyover opens. As one resident put it, “The road is already narrow, and the construction has made it worse. Reaching work or school on time has become nearly impossible.”
