Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): New allegations and rebuttals have emerged in the death case of 33-year-old Twisha Sharma, whose body was discovered hanging at her husband’s residence in Bhopal’s Katara Hills locality on May 12. As police pursue the case as a suspected dowry-related death, Twisha’s mother-in-law, retired judge Giribala Singh, has now levelled multiple grave accusations concerning Twisha’s mental health, private life, and family background.

Addressing a press conference, Giribala Singh asserted that Twisha was receiving psychiatric counseling and taking medication for mental health issues. She asserted that Twisha’s condition would briefly improve before deteriorating again. Singh further stated that the family had observed her hands trembling, which she characterized as signs of withdrawal.

The mother-in-law additionally asserted that Twisha had confessed to using marijuana while pregnant. She further alleged that Twisha underwent a medical termination of pregnancy (MTP) earlier this month and later came to regret the decision.

Giribala Singh said Twisha’s death was a huge loss for the family and added that they had supported her throughout. She also questioned the role of Twisha’s parents, alleging that they had not visited their daughter during the last five months after marriage.

'Twisha's Family Earned Through Her Career'

Singh alleged that Twisha’s parents introduced her to the glamour industry when she was very young and later withdrew from her life. She further commented on Twisha’s father’s professional background and asserted that the family’s income depended on Twisha’s career.

Meanwhile, Twisha’s father, Navnidhi Sharma, has levelled serious allegations against her in-laws, accusing them of harassment and dowry demands. Speaking to the media, he stated that Twisha met her husband, Samarth Singh, on a dating app, and that both families subsequently consented to their marriage.

Navnidhi Sharma claimed that the issues began shortly after the marriage. He stated that subtle demands for money and frequent remarks about expenses became a regular occurrence in the household. He further alleged that the situation deteriorated after Twisha lost her job, following which she was reportedly subjected to taunts related to financial matters.
