Pune, 21 July 2025: The road passing through the village area of Bhugaon is extremely narrow, stretching only about 300 meters. Despite its limited width, it remains the only viable route, via the Kolad road, for commuters traveling from Pune to Mulshi and Konkan.
Over time, traffic along this stretch has significantly increased, especially towards Konkan. Additionally, the Bhugaon area has seen a rise in population and infrastructure, with more schools, colleges, and other institutions now operating in the vicinity
The narrow road passing through the village frequently experiences traffic congestion due to the high volume of vehicles. Constructing a bypass road could help ease this problem. Additionally, encroachments have increased along the stretch between the Ramnadi and Angrewadi junctions on the Kolad road, further contributing to the issue.
The road leading to Song Bird Society, Matalwadi Phata, Guravvasti Phata, and surrounding areas experiences heavy traffic due to a high volume of vehicles. In the absence of traffic police, congestion is a regular issue. Deploying at least six to seven traffic personnel is necessary to manage the situation effectively.
Expedite the construction and implementation of the proposed bypass road to ease congestion.
Remove all unauthorized encroachments along the existing roads to ensure smoother traffic flow.
Deploy additional traffic police personnel to manage peak-hour traffic effectively.
Establish a permanent and independent police station dedicated to the Bhugaon–Bhukum region to improve law enforcement and response time.
Enforce a strict ban on the movement of heavy vehicles such as dumpers and concrete mixers during peak traffic hours.
