Pune, 10 December 2025: A cold wave has tightened its grip over Pune and several parts of Maharashtra due to cold winds blowing from northern India. Clear skies and dry weather have created good conditions for temperatures to fall sharply, leading to chill across the region.

In Pune, the lowest temperature of the season was recorded at 8.4°C in Pashan, while Shivajinagar touched 8.9°C. Daund and Talegaon reported 9°C, and Ambegaon stood at 10.5°C. Residents across the city experienced shivering cold throughout the day as well as at night.

Weather experts expected to cold wave conditions will continue for the next two days in Pune and nearby regions. According to him, cold northern winds from the western Himalayan region, along with clear skies, are driving down minimum temperatures, especially in North and Central Maharashtra.

Across Maharashtra, minimum temperatures have dropped by 2 to 3 degrees Celsius on average. Ahilyanagar recorded the lowest temperature at 7.4°C, followed by Jalgaon at 8.4°C, Nagpur at 8.8°C, Gondia at 8.6°C, and Yavatmal and Malegaon at 9.2°C. Nashik recorded 9.3°C, while Washim, Akola, and Amravati remained above 10°C.
