Pune, 8th April 2026: A complaint filed against Indian cricketer Hardik Pandya alleging disrespect towards the national flag has been transferred from Pune to Ahmedabad for further investigation.
The complaint was submitted by Advocate Wajid Khan at the Shivajinagar Police Station in Pune. He alleged that Pandya disrespected the national flag while celebrating India’s T20 World Cup victory.
After reviewing the application, Shivajinagar Police found that the alleged incident took place on March 8, 2026, at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, Gujarat.
Since the incident did not occur within Pune’s jurisdiction, the police transferred the complaint to the Ahmedabad Police Commissioner’s office for appropriate action.
Police officials informed the complainant that the matter falls under the jurisdiction of Ahmedabad Police, who will now carry out any further inquiry or investigation.
The complaint claims that Pandya’s actions during the celebration amounted to disrespect towards the national flag, prompting legal action from the complainant.
