Pune: Five-Year-Old Died After Hit by School Bus; Driver and School Officials Booked
Pune, 4th December 2025: In a tragic accident at Pune’s Uruli Devachi area claimed the life of a five-year-old after a school bus hit him on Tuesday morning. The child’s mother was seriously injured in the incident, which took place near the Hadapsar–Saswad Road.
The deceased has been identified as Sainath Tulshiram Bhangare, a resident of Gajraj Heights in Uruli Devachi. His mother, Rekha Bhangare, who was walking him to school, is undergoing treatment for serious injuries. The family is from Kandhar taluka in Nanded district.
According to the complaint filed by Rekha Bhangare at the Fursungi Police Station, the bus, belonging to Modak International School, arrived near Sawali Homes to pick up students. While reversing, the driver allegedly failed to notice Rekha and her son, hitting both of them.
Sainath died on the spot after the bus tyre ran over his head. Locals rushed the mother and child to a private hospital, but doctors declared the boy dead.
Police have arrested the driver, Sanskar Anil Bhosale of Pandavnagar, Wadki. A case has also been filed against school founder Sanjay Vasant Modak, principal Dr. Aarti Jadhav, and bus owner Manisha Sanjay Modak for negligence and mismanagement related to student transport.
Following the incident, angry relatives and local residents gathered at the Fursungi Police Station with the child’s body, demanding immediate legal action against the school administration, bus driver, and bus owner.
After the protest, police registered an FIR against all four accused. The case is being investigated by Assistant Inspector Kishor Pawar under the supervision of senior officers.
