Police compiled records of people with previous involvement in serious offences and took preventive action to reduce the risk of incidents during the festival, when large crowds gather at major roads, junctions, Ganesh mandals and immersion procession routes.

Parvati police station recorded the highest number of preventive actions, with 115 people being served orders.
