Pune, 3rd June 2026: City witnessed light rainfall in several parts of the city, including Vishrantwadi, Lohegaon and Khadakwasla, on Tuesday evening. The showers brought relief from the heat and humidity that had persisted over the past few days.
Cloudy skies and cool breezes also helped lower temperatures, making conditions more pleasant for residents.
Weather forecasts indicate that light rain accompanied by thunderstorm activity is likely to continue in Pune until at least June 6. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for the city on June 3 and June 5 due to the possibility of thunderstorms and rainfall.
Although no alert has been issued for June 4 and June 6, weather conditions remain favourable for rain during this period. Similar pre-monsoon showers are expected mainly during the afternoon and evening hours over the next few days.
The southwest monsoon has not yet arrived in Maharashtra. Meteorologists said the current rainfall activity is largely linked to local weather conditions and pre-monsoon atmospheric developments rather than the monsoon system itself.
On Tuesday, Shivajinagar weather station recorded a maximum temperature of 37.3 degrees Celsius and a minimum temperature of 24.4 degrees Celsius.
The city is expected to experience mostly clear skies in the morning until June 8, with cloud cover increasing later in the day, creating conditions favourable for isolated light rain and thunderstorms.
