Pune, 1st September 2026: The draft electoral roll for Pune district’s 21 Assembly constituencies, published on Monday under the Special Intensive Revision (SIR), has flagged 13,32,418 cases for hearings.
Of these, 5,77,821 electors have discrepancies in their details, while 7,54,597 names could not be mapped to the 2002 electoral roll.
Notices will be issued to the affected voters after two days. Hearings will begin on September 7 at locations decided by the respective electoral registration officers (EROs). Booth-level officers will contact the voters and guide them on the documents required for the hearing.
Election officials said 21 EROs and 639 assistant EROs will conduct the hearings. Officials clarified that no name can be removed from the draft electoral roll without issuing a notice and conducting an inquiry.
Voters will be given an opportunity to present their documents and explain their case before a decision is taken on their inclusion in the final roll. District Collector Jitendra Dudi urged voters to check the draft roll and submit the required forms if their names are missing.
The draft roll now contains 62,13,692 electors, compared with 90,80,173 on the pre-SIR roll, a reduction of 28,66,481 names.
The reduction is linked to enumeration forms classified as uncollectable under categories such as absent, shifted, deceased, duplicate and other cases. These names have not been included in the draft roll at this stage.
The 28.66 lakh uncollectable forms include:

1,43,975 duplicate
36,362 other cases
The draft roll includes 31,51,297 men, 30,62,012 women and 383 third-gender electors.
The draft roll is available at the offices of the respective EROs, the district collector’s office and the offices of district presidents of recognised political parties. Voters can also check the roll through the Pune district administration website, ECINET and the Voter Service Portal.
The draft roll has been prepared with October 1, 2026, as the qualifying date and was published in the presence of district officials and representatives of recognised political parties.
Following rationalisation, Pune district now has 8,424 polling stations, seven more than earlier.
Bhor has the highest number with 567 polling stations, followed by Chinchwad with 560 and Hadapsar with 525. Shivajinagar has 266 polling stations, while Kothrud has 387 and Khadakwasla has 502.
The other constituencies have the following number of polling stations: Junnar 356, Ambegaon 344, Khed-Alandi 393, Shirur 459, Daund 315, Indapur 339, Baramati 388, Purandar 413, Maval 402, Pimpri 397, Bhosari 491, Wadgaon Sheri 438, Parvati 344, Pune Cantonment 270 and Kasba Peth 268.
