Pune, 10th September 2026: Water supply to several parts of Pune will remain suspended for today, as the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) carries out urgent electrical and civil maintenance work at various water centres under the Parvati Water Treatment Plant.
The PMC’s Water Supply Department has said that supply is likely to resume late on Friday morning, September 11, and may be at low pressure initially.
The shutdown will affect areas supplied by the Parvati HLR tank, Bhama Askhed, SNDT HLR, Chandni Chowk, Gandhi Bhavan, Pancard Club GSR, Warje Water Centre, Pashan-Sus, Chaturshringi, old Warje, Holkar, Kondhwa-Dhawade and Vadgaon water centres.
The affected areas include parts of Sahakarnagar, Padmavati, Bibwewadi, Mukundnagar, Maharshinagar, Gangadham, Upper and Lower Indiranagar, Salisbury Park and Parvati Gaothan.
The Bhama Askhed water centre supplies several eastern and northeastern parts of the city. Areas likely to be affected include Lohegaon, Kalyani Nagar, Viman Nagar, Vadgaon Sheri, Kharadi, Dhanori, Tingre Nagar, Kalas, Vishrantwadi and Yerawada, along with parts of the Alandi area.
The SNDT water centre supplies a large western Pune belt, including Gokhalenagar, Aundh, Bopodi, Pune University, Law College Road, Baner Road, BMCC College Road, ICC Road and Senapati Bapat Road.
The Chandni Chowk tank area, meanwhile, covers Pashan, Bavdhan, Sutarwadi, Bhugaon Road and nearby residential areas.
The Gandhi Bhavan tank supplies areas including Kothrud, Karvenagar, Warje-Malwadi, Shivprabha and parts of Karve Road. These areas will also experience the scheduled interruption.
Water supply in parts of Pashan-Sus, Chaturshringi, Warje and the Holkar water centre areas will also be affected during the maintenance work.
Residents in Dattnagar, Telco Colony, Santosh Nagar, Dhayari, Ambegaon, Dhankawadi, Kondhwa, Katraj and Yewalewadi are also expected to face the water shutdown due to work at the Vadgaon water centre.
The PMC has advised residents in the affected areas to plan their water requirements in advance and cooperate during the maintenance period. Normal supply is expected to be restored gradually on Friday, with some areas likely to receive water later than usual and at reduced pressure.
