It was a moment that will go down the memory lane for director Amit Ravindernath Sharma and the team of Badhaai Ho. The film,  which has won the 66th National Film Award for Best Wholesome Entertainment had the stellar cast of Ayushmann Khurrana, Sanya Malhotra,  Neena Gupta, Gajraj Rao, and Surekha Sikri.

The family comedy, which was produced by Aleya Sen, Amit Sharma and Hemant Bhandari of Chrome Pictures and Junglee Pictures the film had become a great success at the box office upon its release along with raving reviews from the critics.

Amit Ravindernath Sharma was present at the ceremony to receive the award along with his partner Aleya Sen and his father.

Talking about his experience, he says, “The experience of going on stage and receiving the award was surreal and filled with pride. I had made this film without any expectations but the love we have received is unparallel. For me, this was more special because my father and my partner Aleya Sen, who is also the producer of the film were present at the ceremony and our company  Chrome Productions has won a National Award with its maiden film project Badhaai Ho. I  will always be grateful to the audience for giving me so much love.”

Badhaai Ho also received another National Award with Surekha Sikri winning the National Award for Best Actor in Supporting Role (female).
