Motu Patlu, characters in Lotpot magazine, have been entertaining kids on Nickelodeon channel for last seven years. And now these comic characters are all set to create history — they are the first Indian animated characters to have their wax statues at Madam Tussauds in Delhi. Motu Patlu were waxed on June 4 in Delhi. The Nickelodeon cluster in India caters to kids — from tots to teens — with a host of renowned characters like Motu Patlu, Shiva, Gattu Battu, Rudra, Dora and Spongebob SquarePants, amongst others.
The Motu Patlu franchise has consistently been growing in reach and has created a strong bond with kids across the country. Due to the association between Lotpot and Nickelodeon, a vibrant ecosystem has been created Motu Patlu franchise. The characters and the show have not only won hearts of Indian kids but have a huge fan following around the world too. The wax statue of the comic characters is surely going to be a delight for fans.
Nina Elavia Jaipuria, head, Hindi Mass Entertainment and the Kids TV Network at Viacom18, expressed her happiness on this achievement. She said that since the debut of the comic duo, they have been much loved and adored by kids. “Taking the characters out of television screens into theatricals, consumer products, games has added to their allure and helped forge an everlasting bond with kids,” she added.
