Naagin 3 fame Puneett Chouksey is playing the lead in Colors’ newly-launched show— Naati Pinky Ki Lambi Love Story. The show, which went on air on Monday, also stars Riya Shukla, Vishwajeet Pradhan, Dheeraj Rai, and Bharti Achrekar. The story is about a 4 feet 8 inch girl (Pinky), who is ridiculed by the world, but remains confident about herself.
Puneett finds the concept of the show unique. “People from all age groups will be able to connect with the story because short people are made fun of and given names. We have to rise above all this and that’s the message we have tried to share. Having said that, it’s not a serious show but presented in a light-hearted manner,” says the actor, who believes that the content is pretty good and relatable.
There is no denying that a lot of attention is given to how a person looks but Puneett believes that one has go beyond that. “We may buy an apple which might look fresh but we don’t know whether it will taste as good as it looks. I don’t believe in the philosophy that whosoever looks good is a good person. More than outward appearance, it matters how s/he is inside.”
Puneett says that his character is also interesting. “Because of the some issues that he has faced in the past, this guy is not emotional. He has a connection with Pinky and her family, which you will see later in the serial,” he says, adding that his character will connect with the audience.
“What he faces, or will face in the future, are matters that the audience will be able to connect with and identify as their own story. I will try to portray it beautifully.” Produced by Bodhi Tree Multimedia, the show will air Monday-Friday, 9.30 pm.
Puneett, who has also worked in the web series Ishq Aaj Kal, says that while signing a project, his character and the story matter to him the most. “When the two of them are in sync, I feel I will able to do the project and be able to perform well,” says the actor.
