The trailer of much-awaited horror-comedy, Roohi was released on Tuesday. Directed by Hardik Mehta, the film which was previously called 'Rooh Afza' and then 'Roohi Afzana,' stars Rajkummar Rao, Janhvi Kapoor, and Varun Sharma.

The second installment in the Stree franchise, the movie’s trailer showcases a singing ghost who puts the grooms to sleep and possesses their brides on the wedding night. Ahead of the trailer, Rajkummar – who starred in Stree as well – had shared the two posters of the film with the caption, "ye to bas muh dikhai hai (this is just the first look)."

Announcing the date of release, the actor had earlier shared the teaser which showed him and Varun Sharma as grooms and a bride with a dupatta hiding her face. Rajkummar captioned it, "Dulhan ki tarah sajenge Theatres. Magar Dulha le jaegi #Roohi! Iss Bhootiya Shaadi mein aapka swagat hai! #MagicOfCinemaReturns; movie releases 11th March. (The theatres will deck up like a bride but Roohi will steal the groom. Welcome to this scary wedding)."

The movie tells the story of a witch, Roohi (Janhvi kapoor) who is possed by a ghost, and how two men - Veer and Raj (Rajkummar Rao and Varun Sharma) - take up the responsibility to save the brides from Roohi. Janhvi, who plays a witch, is believed to get salvation only if she is married to a man.

The trailer also showcases the witch clichés, like the possessed character can twist her neck 360 degrees, and her feet are turned backward! But despite visible VFX and prosthetics, Janhvi looks promising.
