Two spy thrillers arrived in theatres this week. One is Alia Bhatt and Sharvari’s Alpha, and the other is Huma Qureshi and Saqib Saleem’s Baby Do Die Do, which also marks the siblings’ debut as producers. During the routine promotional circuit, an unexpectedly humorous moment unfolded when Huma Qureshi sat down with Tanmay Bhatt for a conversation that swiftly became the day’s standout highlight.
Huma Qureshi's hilarious reply leaves everyone laughing
In a chat on Tanmay Bhatt's YouTube channel, the comedian humorously mentioned the box office competition between the two movies. Tanmay remarked, “Huma, I’m so happy for you. You’ve shown that if you stay committed to your goal, work hard, and remain focused, one day you too can have your box office taken over by Alpha, and that’s exciting for all of us. ”Everyone on the panel, including Rohan Joshi and Aaditya “Kullu” Kulshreshth, burst into laughter. Huma, however, had an even sharper comeback ready.
She replied, “Thanks Tanmay. It is a very small film, very tiny film, independently made, independently produced, also releasing on our own. So we are a very small film, and if you want a big film, I would go to like Latent and not come here."
Her reply immediately took everyone by surprise and had the whole room bursting into laughter. The joke worked because Alia Bhatt and Sharvari had already promoted Alpha on the premiere episode of Samay Raina’s contentious Netflix show, India’s Got Latent Season 2, which made Huma’s clever nod all the more timely.
