Pandey penned the lyrics for 'Mile Sur Mera Tumhara,' an Indian song that celebrated national unity and diversity. Additionally, he co-authored the screenplay for the movie 'Bhopal Express.'

Messages of Condolence Flood In

Individuals from the realms of business, advertising, and politics honored Piyush Pandey. In a post on X, Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman remarked, 'A giant and icon of Indian advertising, he revolutionized communication by incorporating common expressions, rustic humor, and heartfelt warmth.'

"It is unfortunate that Piyush Pandey has passed away. He launched Kotak Mahindra Bank with a campaign in 2003, portraying banking as 'common sense.' He was an incredible out-of-the-box thinker and a modest individual. He blended creativity with an Indian perspective. He will be missed," said Uday Kotak, Founder of Kotak Mahindra Bank.

Author and columnist Suhel Seth referred to Pandey as his 'closest friend,' stating, 'India has lost not only a brilliant advertising mind but also a genuine patriot and an exceptional gentleman. Now, the heavens will resonate with Mile Sur Mera Tumhara.'
