Tamil actor Pradeep Ranganathan achieved the most successful opening of his career with his new film Dude, featuring Mamitha Baiju as the leading actress. The Tamil romance-drama earned Rs 10 crore nett across all languages on its first day, Friday.
Industry data tracking site Sacnilk reports that Dude's first-day earnings surpassed Ranganathan's earlier films, Dragon (Rs 7.6 crore net) and Love Today (Rs 2.85 crore net).
In Tamil Nadu, the movie achieved an overall occupancy rate of 48.85% on Friday. The morning screenings saw a 33.94% occupancy, which rose to 45.75% in the afternoon and 46.17% in the evening.
The night shows reached a peak occupancy of 69.53%. The Telugu version reported an overall occupancy of 49.61 per cent.
Directed by newcomer Keerthiswaran, the film 'Dude' follows childhood friends Agan and Kuralarasi, who run an event management company and belong to the 'Dude Group,' renowned for planning surprises. .
The story takes a romantic turn when Kural confesses her love for Agan. The movie features R. Sarathkumar, Rohini, and Hridhu Haroon in significant roles
