A screenshot of a fabricated article that spread across social media created widespread confusion online. It alleged that Vijay Deverakonda had made unreasonable demands of his producers, Mythri Movie Makers, on the sets of Ranabaali and compelled them to take the matter to the producers’ council. The actor’s team, however, later released a clarification.
What did the fake article say?
The ‘article’ about Vijay that spread on social media was allegedly sourced from the 123Telugu website. It asserted that the actor requested around six caravans and fifty assistants on the sets of Ranabaali. A fabricated screenshot even carried a headline stating: “RANABAALI: 5-6 Caravans on Sets for Hero, 40-50 Assistants, Mythri Goes to Producers Council.” The image was widely shared by trolls, who used it to accuse the actor of making unreasonable demands.
What is the truth?
According to Vijay’s team, the website in question had never published such an article, and there was no basis for these rumours. They warned of a deliberate misinformation campaign by certain individuals on X/Twitter intended to tarnish Vijay Deverakonda’s image. The statement noted that fabricated screenshots, designed to appear as though they came from legitimate news portals and apps, are being shared on social media (particularly X), alleging that Vijay Deverakonda requested 5–6 caravans for #Ranabaali. His team clarified that these allegations are entirely unfounded and urged people not to believe or spread such rumours.
The website was also compelled to release a statement asserting that it had never published any article with that headline. It further warned of potential legal action against individuals who exploited its name to circulate the rumour.
Recent work
Vijay most recently appeared in the 2024 film The Family Star and the 2025 release Kingdom, both of which underperformed at the box office and drew mixed critical responses. He also made cameo appearances in the 2024 blockbuster Kalki 2898 AD and in Sing Geetham earlier this year. Vijay is currently filming Ravi Kiran Kola’s Rowdy Janardhana, featuring Keerthy Suresh as the female lead, and he is also attached to Rahul Sankrithyan’s Ranabaali, in which he stars opposite Rashmika Mandanna.
Vijay and Rashmika kept their romance private and dated quietly for some time before getting engaged in Hyderabad last October. They were married this February in a ceremony attended by their families, close friends, and loved ones. Ranabaali will be their first on-screen collaboration since Geetha Govindam (2018) and Dear Comrade (2019). Rashmika most recently appeared in Cocktail 2 and is set to star in Mysaa, alongside Ranabaali.
