The ₹10 Crore Trekking Startup from Dehradun

In 2015, Vijay Pratap Singh, an investment banker from Dehradun, made a life-altering decision: he left the high-stress world of finance to pursue his true passion—mountaineering.

Fast forward eight years, and Vijay’s company, AdvenThrill, has become a ₹10 crore adventure tourism trailblazer across the Himalayas.

What began as a personal escape has grown into a purpose-driven enterprise that's reshaping how India treks and connects with its mountains.

A certified chartered accountant by training, Vijay had a promising career in Dehradun’s financial circuit. But weekend treks and forest hikes kept calling him back to the hills. In 2015, he decided to follow that call—quitting his job, and starting AdvenThrill with a vision to “put Indian mountaineering on the global map”—without compromising on safety or ethical standards.

Unlike mass-market tour operators, Vijay believed in doing fewer, doing better. AdvenThrill currently hosts around 10–20 curated treks each year, ensuring trained guides, high safety standards, and small group sizes. That commitment to excellence has attracted serious trekkers—and returned clients.

Scaling to ₹10 Crore

In eight years, AdvenThrill has grown from a passion project into a serious business:

  • ₹10 crore cumulative revenue

  • ₹45 lakh income in the last financial year alone

  • Expeditions across Ladakh, Uttarakhand, Sikkim, Himachal Pradesh, and Nepal

  • A complete vertical integration model: route development, logistics, training, and marketing

Vijay isn’t just following known trails. He is leading a mission to discover and map new trekking routes—with GPS accuracy and local collaboration—so that remote communities benefit and trekkers have fresh, ethically managed options.

India’s share in global adventure tourism remains small—but with leaders like Vijay, that could soon change.

From a banker’s routine to Himalayan horizons, Vijay Pratap Singh stands as proof that following your passion can build purpose—and profit. His journey isn’t just about business growth. It’s about responsible adventure, community empowerment, and ethical leadership in a sector full of promise.

So, the next time you gear up for a trek, remember: the trail leads to more than a peak. It leads to vision, change, and maybe, to ₹10 crore worth of sustainable dreams.
