Pune: In a shocking case of alleged extortion, two individuals have been booked for blocking the main access road to Indrayani Park on the Pune-Nashik Highway and demanding money to clear the path. Around 340 plot owners in the area were affected, with some already beginning construction work.
The accused, identified as former Khed Panchayat Samiti Vice Chairman Amar Kamble and his brother Anil Kamble, allegedly forced plot owners to assign all construction work exclusively to them. When the demand was not met, they placed a container cabin at the entrance of Indrayani Park, completely blocking access.
Legal Road Access Ignored
The access road from Pune-Nashik Highway to Indrayani Park had been legally secured through an agreement between the developers and the Kamble brothers, which was further extended to plot owners. Despite this, the accused allegedly obstructed the road and issued threats.
Threats and Demands
According to the complaint filed by Dharmasingh Patil (39, Resident of Kuruli), the accused allegedly warned plot owners: "How will you construct houses? How will you enter your plots? We will see to that."
Repeated requests to remove the obstruction were reportedly ignored, and the accused allegedly demanded construction contracts in exchange for clearing the road. A case has been registered at Mahalunge Police Station under extortion and other legal charges.
