Pune: The 16th Annual National Conference of the Indian Association of Paediatric Anaesthesiologists (IAPA) – 2025, a flagship event in paediatric anaesthesia, concluded successfully at the Armed Forces Medical College (AFMC), Pune.
Organized in collaboration with the Society of Defence Anaesthesiologists, the conference brought together over 450 healthcare professionals to discuss the latest trends, innovations, and challenges in paediatric anaesthesia.
Established in 2006, IAPA has evolved into a key organization committed to enhancing patient safety and best practices in paediatric anaesthesia, with a growing membership of over 880 professionals. The annual conference serves as a vital platform for knowledge exchange, skill development, and professional networking among anaesthesiologists and paediatric specialists nationwide.
Expert-Led Discussions and Hands-On Training
Held from 14th to 16th February 2025, the conference was inaugurated by Maj Gen B Nambiar, AVSM, SM, VSM, Commandant, Command Hospital (SC) Pune. It featured a diverse range of workshops, expert panel discussions, and keynote sessions, focusing on:

Emerging technologies in paediatric anaesthesia
Multidisciplinary collaboration for improved surgical outcomes

Attendees benefited from AFMC’s state-of-the-art training environment, engaging in real-world case simulations to enhance their clinical expertise. Discussions emphasized the significance of collaboration between paediatric anaesthesiologists, surgeons, nurses, and other healthcare providers to ensure comprehensive care for children.
