The campaign aims to strengthen gram panchayats, ensure good governance, and promote sustainable rural development.
Pawar emphasized people’s participation, social justice, women empowerment, technology use, and environmental conservation for building a progressive Maharashtra by 2047.
Pune, 4th September 2025: Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar on Monday attended a district-level workshop held in Pune under the Mukhyamantri Samruddha Panchayati Raj Abhiyan. Addressing the gathering, Pawar said the initiative’s main goal is to empower gram panchayats, bring development to every village, and make rural communities self-reliant.
He noted that India’s strength lies in its villages and a strong gram panchayat leads to a strong taluka, district, state, and ultimately a strong nation. The workshop covered issues such as good governance, livelihood development, convergence of schemes like MGNREGA, strengthening local institutions, social justice, and public participation.
Pawar underlined that the quality of work in development projects must remain high and benefits should reach ordinary citizens directly. He urged villagers to actively participate in initiatives such as women’s empowerment, doorstep healthcare, technology and AI-driven solutions, environmental protection, and tree plantation drives.
Looking ahead, Pawar said these collective efforts will help Maharashtra move towards the vision of a developed state by 2047. Recalling the legacy of former Chief Minister Yashwantrao Chavan, regarded as the architect of modern Maharashtra, Pawar added that strengthening Panchayati Raj will ensure the state follows the ideals of Shivaji Maharaj, Shahu Maharaj, Mahatma Phule, and Dr. B.R. Ambedkar.
He appealed to citizens and local bodies to make the Mukhyamantri Samruddha Panchayati Raj Abhiyan a success and write a new chapter in rural development.
