Pune: A surprise verbal exchange between Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar and Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) leader Babu Wagaskar became the highlight of a recent Pune Municipal Corporation event, after Pawar expressed his displeasure over Raj Thackeray’s remarks about Nationalist Congress Party’s (NCP) electoral success.

Raj Thackeray had previously questioned how Ajit Pawar-led NCP managed to secure 40 MLAs when, in his opinion, the party deserved only one or two seats. This comment reportedly upset Ajit Pawar, leading to an unexpected confrontation at the event.

The 75th-anniversary celebration of Pune Municipal Corporation was attended by several political figures, including Ajit Pawar, NCP State President Sunil Tatkare, Shiv Sena MLA Vijay Shivtare, and other key leaders. Among the attendees was Babu Wagaskar, a senior MNS leader and close associate of Raj Thackeray.

After the event, Ajit Pawar was heading to another engagement in Shivajinagar when he encountered Wagaskar. During a brief handshake, Pawar openly addressed the recent remarks made by Raj Thackeray, saying: "Your leader (Raj Thackeray) publicly stated that our party should have won only one or two seats. That is not a fair statement. Make sure he knows how I feel about it."

The unexpected remarks left Babu Wagaskar visibly surprised, and the sharp exchange quickly became a talking point among those present at the venue. The incident highlights the ongoing political tensions and verbal exchanges between Raj Thackeray and Ajit Pawar, both of whom are known for their unfiltered political statements.
