Pune: A 20-year-old man has been booked by the Ambegaon police after a 14-year-old girl became pregnant following two incidents where he allegedly lured her to his friend’s house and engaged in a physical relationship with her. The accused, identified as Bhushan Vinod Salunkhe, a resident of Ambadas Niwas, Phalenagar, Katraj, is now facing charges of sexual assault.

According to the police, the victim is an eighth-grade student. The first incident occurred in December 2024. One morning, while she was waiting at the bus stop for her school bus, Bhushan Salunkhe arrived in a Thar SUV and offered to drop her at school. She agreed and got into the vehicle. However, instead of taking her to school, he told her he needed to pick up some documents from a friend’s house and took her there.

At the house, which was unoccupied at the time, Salunkhe assured her that his friend’s sister would arrive soon and asked her to wait in the bedroom. He then expressed his feelings for her and coerced her into a physical relationship, warning her not to tell anyone.

A second incident took place on January 10, 2025. The girl was again waiting at the bus stop when Salunkhe arrived and took her to his house, where he repeated the act.

In February, the girl began experiencing nausea and vomiting. Suspicious of her condition, she used a pregnancy test kit, which confirmed she was pregnant. Following this, she and her family reported the matter to the police. Based on her complaint, the Ambegaon police have registered a case against Bhushan Salunkhe and are conducting further investigations.
