The Ashadhi Wari, a centuries-old pilgrimage tradition in Maharashtra, is set to begin on July 19, 2025, with the departure of Sant Dnyaneshwar Maharaj's palkhi from Alandi. This sacred journey, culminating on Ashadhi Ekadashi on July 6, 2025, will see thousands of devotees, known as Warkaris, walk barefoot to the revered Vithoba Temple in Pandharpur.

Departure Date: The palkhi procession will start on July 19 is incorrect; the actual departure for Pandharpur is expected around June 20, 2025, from Alandi.

Route and Halts: The procession will make several stops, including Pune, Saswad, Jejuri, Valhe, Lonand, Taradgaon, Phaltan, Barad, Natepute, Malshiras, Velapur, and Bhandishegaon, before reaching Pandharpur on July 6, 2025.

Arrival at Pandharpur: The palkhi will arrive at Pandharpur on July 6, 2025, where devotees will participate in the Ashadhi Ekadashi Mahapuja.

Ashadhi Wari is a celebration of devotion and cultural heritage, symbolising the deep connection between the people of Maharashtra and their faith. The pilgrimage honors saints like Dnyaneshwar and Tukaram, who played a pivotal role in the Bhakti movement.

The procession is meticulously organized with each palkhi having its route and schedule published in advance. Dindis (groups of devotees) manage logistics such as accommodation, food, and medical assistance. The journey is marked by traditional folk dances, music, and theatrical plays celebrating the lives and teachings of the saints.

The Ashadhi Wari begins, it embodies the spirit of devotion and communal harmony that defines Maharashtra's cultural landscape. This pilgrimage is not just a religious event but a vibrant celebration of tradition and spirituality.
