Pune: AT&S AG, a €1.5 billion Austria-based leader in IC substrate and printed circuit board (PCB) manufacturing, announced the launch of its Global IT Shared Service Center (IT SSC) in Pune, Maharashtra. The new center will support AT&S’s transcontinental operations across Austria, China, Malaysia, and India, reinforcing the company’s digital transformation strategy.
The IT SSC will provide career opportunities for skilled professionals in IT security, SAP, and software development, with the company planning to recruit over 100 IT experts by 2025-26. This expansion aligns with AT&S’s goal to enhance efficiency and technological excellence across its six manufacturing plants and nine sales offices worldwide.
Speaking at the launch, AT&S AG’s Chief Technology Officer, Peter Griehsnig, said, "AT&S stands for progress, innovation, and investing in the brightest minds and cutting-edge technology. The launch of our IT Shared Service Center in Pune is a key milestone in our global digital transformation journey. India's deep talent pool and innovation-driven ecosystem make it the perfect location to drive agility and technological excellence across our operations."
The Pune IT SSC is part of AT&S’s Target Operating Model, designed to deliver high-quality IT services by tapping into India’s rich talent base. With this move, AT&S joins the ranks of global corporations establishing their competence and shared service centers in India, leveraging specialized IT expertise for innovation and service reliability.
This initiative follows Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Austria in July 2024, where AT&S executives engaged in discussions with him at the Federal Chancellery in Vienna. AT&S has maintained a strong presence in India for 25 years, operating a high-tech PCB manufacturing facility in Nanjangud, Mysuru, making it India’s largest exporter of advanced PCBs.
Driving Innovation Through Centers of Excellence
The Pune IT SSC will support AT&S’s global manufacturing of high-end microelectronics and printed circuit boards through four Centers of Excellence (CoE):
