Pune, 21 July 2025: A serious accident occurred on the highway from Bavdhan to Warje, in front of Ved Vihar, where an auto-rickshaw (MH 12 QR 4621) crashed into the road divider. The rickshaw driver, identified as Ganesh Kolaskar (35), was trapped inside the vehicle.
Firefighters from the Warje fire station and NDA fire station rushed to the spot. Using a spreader cutter, the rescue team successfully freed both legs of the trapped driver and shifted him to the hospital via ambulance. The damaged rickshaw was moved to the roadside to avoid further risk.
The rescue operation was carried out under the supervision of Deputy Fire Officer Sunil Name. Firemen Vijay Swami, Balu Talpe, Ashish Sutar, Kondiba Zore, Bhandari, Jambhale, driver Godse, Kal Shetty, and Choure actively participated in the operation. The team left the scene after receiving clearance from the police.
