Bal Kalyan Sanstha Trustee Bharati Prataprao Pawar Passes Away at 77

Bharati Prataprao Pawar Demise: Bharati Pawar was also a trustee at the schools for visually impaired children run by Sakal in Koregaon Park and Kothrud, where she played a vital role in several welfare initiatives.

Pune: Bharati Prataprao Pawar, wife of Sakal Media Group Chairman Prataprao Pawar, passed away on Monday (March 17) evening at the age of 77.

She is survived by her son Abhijit Pawar, Managing Director of Sakal; daughter-in-law Mrunal Pawar; grandchildren Janhavi and Rahul; daughter Ashwini, and grandson Zakir. Her last rites will be conducted at 12 PM on Tuesday (March 18) at Vaikunth Crematorium in Navi Peth, Pune.

A Life Dedicated to Art and Social Service

Born as Bharati Shripatrao Patil, she spent her early years in Mumbai’s Shivaji Park area. She pursued her schooling at Balmohan Vidya Mandir and later graduated in Arts from Ruia College. Her deep interest in painting led her to obtain a postgraduate degree in the field.

On August 22, 1970, she married Prataprao Pawar and later settled in Pune. Over the years, she actively engaged in various social welfare initiatives through Sakal.

She was closely associated with Bal Kalyan Sanstha near Aundh for over 35 years, serving as a trustee and contributing to the development of children through art education. She also formed strong connections with the institution’s staff and officials.

Additionally, she was a trustee at the schools for visually impaired children run by Sakal in Koregaon Park and Kothrud, where she played a vital role in several welfare initiatives.

Her passing marks the end of a life deeply committed to art, education, and social service.
