Pune Police Crime Branch has submitted a 1000-page chargesheet in the Cantonment Court against six accused in the murder of Satish Wagh. The chargesheet reveals that the murder was orchestrated by Akshay Javalakar and Mohini Wagh, as Wagh was an obstacle to their affair.
Murder Planned for ₹5 Lakh Contract
According to the investigation, Akshay Javalakar, who was living in a rented room owned by Wagh, allegedly planned the murder in collusion with Wagh's wife, Mohini. He hired Pawan Sharma for ₹5 lakh to carry out the crime.
On December 9, 2024, Satish Wagh (58, resident of Fursungi) went for his morning walk when Pawan Sharma and his associates kidnapped him in a car. They later stabbed him to death with a sharp weapon, and his body was discovered at Shindawane Ghat near Uruli Kanchan.
Six Arrested in the Case
The Hadapsar Police arrested six individuals, identified as:
Akshay Javalakar
Mohini Wagh
Atish Jadhav
Pawan Sharma
Navnath Gursale
Vikas Shinde
The investigation was conducted under the guidance of Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar, Additional Commissioner of Crime Branch Shailesh Balkawade, Deputy Commissioner Nikhil Pingle, Senior Inspector Sudarshan Gaikwad from the Anti-Narcotics Cell led the probe and submitted the chargesheet to the court.
Key Evidence and Witnesses
Weapons used in the murder were discarded in the Bhima River near Perne Bridge.
The getaway vehicle was seized.
CCTV footage from 16 locations was collected.
Satish Wagh’s mobile phone and ₹1.56 lakh in cash were recovered.
35 crucial witnesses have recorded their statements before the court.
Occult Rituals Alleged in the Chargesheet
The chargesheet also alleges that a year before the murder, Mohini Wagh consulted a tantrik (occultist) to perform black magic on Satish Wagh to remove him as an obstacle in her relationship.
