Pune, 2nd December 2024: A businessman from Pune has lodged a complaint against an individual for allegedly defrauding him of ₹7 lakh under the pretext of arranging a ₹4 crore business loan.

The accused, identified as Tanmay Ramesh Jadhav, is a resident of Fatimanagar, Wanawadi. The Samarth Police have registered a case and initiated an investigation.

According to the complaint, the businessman was introduced to Jadhav through a mutual contact. Jadhav claimed that he could secure a ₹4 crore loan within 15 days through a private financial institution named Venkateshwara Enterprises.

The accused further reinforced his claims by calling the complainant to a hotel in Rasta Peth, where they signed a formal contract on stamp paper regarding the loan arrangement.

Over several weeks, Jadhav collected ₹6.87 lakh from the complainant under various pretexts, including processing fees and loan approval charges. However, the loan was never disbursed. When the complainant questioned Jadhav about the delay, he began avoiding any communication.

Suspecting foul play, the businessman approached the Samarth Police Station and filed a complaint. Police Sub-Inspector J.R. Fadtare is leading the investigation. The authorities are working to recover the defrauded amount.
