Pune: The first-ever Cambodia-India Bilateral Army Exercise (CINBAX-I) concluded today, marking a significant milestone in military cooperation between the two nations.
Held with active participation from Cambodian and Indian contingents, the exercise focused on enhancing interoperability, sharing expertise in United Nations Peacekeeping Operations (UNPKO), and fostering a mutual understanding of modern defence practices.
A key highlight was the Table-Top Exercise, which simulated joint Counter-Terrorism (CT) operations under the United Nations Charter’s Chapter VII.
Participants planned the formation of a Joint Training Task Force for Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) and strategized operations employing advanced force multipliers in unconventional scenarios.
The program also included a combat firing session at the Baffle Range, where both contingents demonstrated their operational capabilities, fostering teamwork and camaraderie.
Further, officers visited the National Defence Academy (NDA), Khadakwasla, to experience its renowned military training ethos and leadership programs.
At the College of Military Engineering (CME), Pune, the Cambodian delegation gained insights into Humanitarian Mine Action techniques, Anti-IED measures, and advanced explosive-detection strategies, including canine-assisted operations.
The exercise featured a display of India’s New Generation Equipment (NGE), including NEGEV Light Machine Guns, SIG 716 rifles, thermal imaging systems, and sniper rifles.
In line with the ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ initiative, leading Indian defence firms such as MKU, Jatayu, and Ikran Aerospace showcased indigenous defence innovations.
CINBAX-I has strengthened operational synergy and laid the groundwork for deeper defence collaboration between India and Cambodia. This initiative not only fosters bilateral ties but also highlights India's expertise in defence technology and peacekeeping capabilities, paving the way for future cooperation in the Indo-Pacific region.
