Pune: A tragic accident occurred in Varandha Ghat on the Bhor-Mahad route early Monday (January 27) morning when a four-wheeler Eco car (MH 12 UJ 9957) heading from Mahad to Bhor fell approximately 500 feet into a gorge near a curve in Umbardewadi. The incident took place around 4 a.m.
Preliminary reports revealed that one person died on the spot, while eight others sustained injuries. All the victims are reportedly residents of Pune. The cause of the accident remains unclear and is under investigation.
The deceased has been identified as Shubham Shirke (22), a resident of Janata Vasahat, Pune. The injured individuals include:

The Bhor Police promptly responded to the accident and, with the assistance of the Sahyadri Rescue Team and local villagers, carried out a rescue operation. The injured and the deceased were transported to the Bhor Sub-District Hospital for treatment and further procedures.
The rescue operation was carried out with the help of police personnel from Bhor Police Station, including Police Constables Rahul Makhare, Sunil Chavan, and Sagar Zhende.
Additional support came from Police Patil Sudhir Dighe of Warwand village, as well as local residents Bhau Umbratkar, Vitthal Pol, Nilesh Umbratkar, Akshay Dhumal, and Nilesh Pol. The Bhor Police have launched an investigation into the accident to ascertain its cause.
