Pune: The State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT) has directed schools across Maharashtra to celebrate a dedicated Career Guidance Week from January 14 to January 21 for students in classes 9 to 12. This initiative aims to help students explore career opportunities, gain industry insights, and receive professional guidance to shape their future.
SCERT Director Rahul Rekhawar, through an official circular, instructed secondary education officers of Zilla Parishads and administrative officers of municipal corporations to oversee the execution of these programs. Previously, January 14 was observed as Career Guidance Day, but this year, the initiative has been expanded to a week-long event with a structured schedule of activities.
The scheduled activities are as follows:
January 14: Career experts will provide insights into various career paths.
January 15: Alumni who have excelled in their respective fields will share their experiences and guidance.
January 16: Successful entrepreneurs will conduct sessions under the theme "The Mantra of Business."
January 17: SCERT’s webinar series on career opportunities will be broadcast.
January 18: Students will visit nearby industries and factories, followed by a report-writing activity on their experiences.
January 19: Parents of students from classes 9 to 12 will participate in counseling sessions to understand their children's interests, capabilities, and career options.
January 21: Psychological experts will guide class 10 and 12 students on coping with exam-related stress and anxiety.
Counseling centers have been established in all schools with classes 9 to 12 across all mediums and managements. Additionally, officers have been instructed to visit schools during the week to monitor activities and submit detailed reports on the initiatives.
This week-long event aims to provide students with valuable exposure and prepare them for future career challenges.
