Pune: The Agri Horticulture Society of Western India inaugurated its much-anticipated annual flower exhibition at Empress Garden. The ceremony was conducted by Dr. Suhas Divase, Commissioner of Settlement and Director of Land Records, with notable dignitaries like Prataprao Pawar, Chairman of Sakal Group; senior social worker Suman Kirloskar; Honorary Secretary Suresh Pingle; Yashwant Khaire; and former state minister Balasaheb Shivarkar in attendance.

Addressing the audience, Dr. Divase appreciated the initiative, calling the exhibition a celebration of nature. He highlighted the role of the society in conserving the environment and praised the participation of younger generations in taking this legacy forward.

Chairman Prataprao Pawar expressed his commitment to promoting an appreciation for nature among the public. “Every year, this exhibition brings joy to lakhs of visitors. We are determined to bring continuous innovations and improvements to the garden to enhance the experience,” he added.

The exhibition features an array of attractions, including:

• Japanese-style floral decorations

• Various artistic flower arrangements

• Bonsai trees created by competitors

• Contributions from nurseries across Pune and other regions

In addition, there are creative layouts of gardens, aesthetically arranged pots, artistic displays of fruits and vegetables, and garden accessories for enthusiasts.

The event has drawn participation from nurseries and gardening professionals from Kolhapur, Sangli, Nashik, Andhra Pradesh, Kerala, and other regions.

Visitors can enjoy the stunning sight of 2.5 lakh flowers of diverse species, alongside the chance to savor a traditional Gavran Hurda party. The exhibition will be open to the public from January 25 to January 27, between 9:00 AM and 7:00 PM.
