Pune, 27 September 2025: A major fire broke out on the 12th floor of Marvel Ideal Spacio Society, a 14-storey residential building on Jagdamba Bhavan Road in Undri. The blaze started in one apartment, prompting the Pune Municipal Corporation Fire Department to dispatch five fire tenders and a hydraulic ladder to control the situation.
Firefighters immediately carried hose pipes to the upper floors to douse the flames. During the operation, a sudden cylinder explosion inside the apartment injured two fire personnel and three residents, intensifying the emergency.
Tragically, a 15-year-old boy suffered critical injuries and later died in the hospital. Among the injured is also a firefighter, while the other residents are receiving treatment at nearby hospitals.
After the fire has been brought under control, authorities have launched an investigation to determine the exact cause of the fire and cylinder explosion. The incident has raised serious concerns about fire safety preparedness in Pune’s high-rise residential buildings.
