Pune, 3rd December 2024: To accommodate ongoing metro construction along Ganeshkhind Road, the Pune Traffic Police have introduced several temporary traffic diversions.

The project includes building a porter beam near Savitribai Phule Pune University Chowk and girder launching at the metro station in front of the Reserve Bank office.

The diversions aim to minimize traffic disruptions during the work, according to Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Amol Zende.

The construction is part of the Tata Metro project connecting Anand Rishiji Maharaj Chowk and Shivajinagar Court. Heavy vehicles and public buses have been restricted from certain routes, with alternative paths outlined for seamless traffic flow.

Two-wheelers, three-wheelers, and four-wheelers traveling from Bremen Chowk to Pune University Chowk can take the direct route via the university’s main gate and VAMNICOM entrance to reach Ganeshkhind Road. However, heavy vehicles, PMPML buses, and luxury buses are barred from this stretch.

Alternative Routes for Major Traffic Diversions

Shivajinagar or Deccan-bound Traffic: Vehicles should divert from Bremen Chowk via Jaykar Path to Ambedkar Chowk, continue straight to Sai Chowk, then turn at Symphony Chowk (Range Hills), and proceed through the Agricultural College road to Simla Chowk.

Traffic to RTO, Pune Station, or Nagar Road: Use routes through Ambedkar Chowk, Bopodi Chowk, or the railway underpass near Khadki Police Station.

Heavy vehicles from Hinjewadi or Sangvi heading toward Senapati Bapat Road will be redirected via Parihar Chowk, Baner Road, and University Chowk. Ganeshkhind Road remains inaccessible to all vehicles heading to Shivajinagar from Range Hills Chowk.

The underpass near Simla Office Chowk to Kamgar Putla Chowk will be closed from 10 PM to 7 AM daily.

Access from Poultry Farm Chowk to Range Hills through the railway underpass is restricted.

For areas affected by pillar construction near CEOP Hostel, vehicles must reroute via Sancheti Hospital to reach S.G. Barve Chowk or Kamgar Putla Chowk.

The Pune Traffic Police have urged motorists to follow the designated diversions to avoid delays and ensure public safety during the metro construction phase.
