Gang Making Fake Aadhaar Cards, Passports Busted in West Bengal

The operation was carried out jointly by an intelligence team from Sukna under the Army's eastern headquarters and police from Khorabada police station.

Siliguri, West Bengal: A gang involved in making fake Aadhaar cards and passports has been busted in West Bengal. Four Nepalese nationals, including an Indian, were arrested.

A shop in Batasi village in Darjeeling district was raided. The operation was carried out jointly by an intelligence team from Sukna under the Army's eastern headquarters and police from Khorabada police station.

The accused has been identified as Sanay Sarkar. He used to give fake Aadhaar cards and passports to citizens of Bangladesh and Nepal with the help of his accomplices. Aadhaar cards were sold for Rs 10,000.

Police questioned Nepalese nationals. They will be sent back to Nepal.

During the operation, the police seized computers, smartphones, fake Aadhaar cards, printed copies and fake documents.

Cyber forensic analysis is now being carried out. Two other associates of Sanay are involved in the gang. Police are investigating the matter.
