Golibar Maidan Chowk: Traffic Rerouted on Trial Basis Starting Nov 27

Motorists are advised to use Solapur Bazaar, Napier Road, and Khatav Bungalow as a diversion to reach CDA Office Chowk

Pune: In an effort to alleviate persistent traffic congestion at Golibar Maidan Chowk on the Pune-Solapur Road, the traffic police have announced experimental changes to the traffic flow, effective from Wednesday (Nov 27).

The changes are being introduced on a trial basis to address the recurring bottlenecks caused by the narrow design of the chowk.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Amol Zhende explained that vehicles heading from Solapur Road and Pulgate towards Golibar Maidan Chowk will no longer be permitted to make a left turn towards the Controller of Defence Accounts (CDA) Office Chowk.

This restriction aims to streamline traffic movement and reduce delays in the area.

Alternative Route Suggested

The traffic police have provided an alternative route for vehicles traveling towards the CDA Office Chowk. Motorists are advised to use Solapur Bazaar, Napier Road, and Khatav Bungalow as a diversion to reach their destination.

The temporary changes will be monitored closely, and adjustments will be made based on their effectiveness in resolving the congestion. Authorities have requested the cooperation of motorists and residents to ensure smooth implementation and minimal inconvenience during this trial phase.
