The rain gradually eased by Sunday afternoon as the weather system weakened and moved away from Maharashtra. The city now has a Yellow Alert for September 29, signal light to moderate showers in most areas.

Meanwhile, surrounding regions including Mumbai, Thane, Palghar, Ratnagiri, Sindhudurg, Nashik ghats, Satara, and Kolhapur ghats will remain under Orange Alerts till September 29 due to continued heavy rainfall risk.

However, meteorologists warn that showers are likely to return from the evening of September 30. A low-pressure system forming over the Bay of Bengal may increase rain activity in Maharashtra, prompting Orange Alerts for Mumbai and ghat areas of Pune and Nashik, while Pune city may continue to experience moderate rain.
