Pune: In a significant step towards enhancing security in Hinjewadi's IT hub, a new police assistance center has been inaugurated in Phase 2. The center aims to ensure the safety of young women professionals and address the needs of residents and businesses in the area.
The initiative was led by Police Commissioner Vinoy Kumar Choubey, who inaugurated the center in the presence of Deputy Commissioner of Police Vishal Gaikwad and Assistant Commissioner of Police Sunil Kurade.
Hinjewadi Phase 2, a bustling area home to numerous IT companies, is also a residential and commercial hub. The existing Hinjewadi police station and outposts are located far from this area, making quick police assistance a challenge. Recognizing the need for immediate support and improved security, the police department has established this center, which will function 24/7.
A dedicated team will be deployed at the center to prioritize women's safety, especially given the late working hours of many IT professionals. This center will also act as a vital resource for addressing emergencies, including accidents, thefts, and harassment. Citizens can directly approach the center for immediate assistance.
Speaking at the inauguration, Police Commissioner Vinoy Kumar Choubey emphasized the importance of the initiative. "Young women working in IT often return home late at night. This assistance center will ensure they face no difficulties and provide a quick response to any citizen's issues. It will also play a crucial role in curbing criminal activities in the area," he said.
