Hit-and-Run Accident Claims Life of 61-Year-Old Cyclist in Pune

The deceased has been identified as Ravindra Siddappa Malgi, a resident of Kadamwak Vasti, Haveli Taluka.

Pune: A 61-year-old cyclist lost his life in a tragic hit-and-run accident after being struck by an unidentified speeding vehicle near Mantarwadi on the Hadapsar-Saswad road. The driver fled the scene, and the police have launched an investigation into the matter.

The deceased has been identified as Ravindra Siddappa Malgi, a resident of Kadamwak Vasti, Haveli Taluka. His nephew, Rohit Vijay Malgi (32), a resident of Wagholi, has lodged a formal complaint at the Phursungi Police Station.

According to police reports, the incident occurred on March 3rd in the evening when Ravindra Malgi was cycling along Mantarwadi Road. A speeding vehicle hit him, causing severe injuries. Passersby attempted to help, but he succumbed to his injuries on the spot.

The driver of the unidentified vehicle immediately fled the scene, and authorities are now examining CCTV footage from the area to identify the suspect.

The investigation is being led by Police Sub-Inspector Komal Jadhav, and police have urged anyone with information to come forward to assist in the case.
