Hit-and-Run, Speeding, and Crashes: Pune Sees Four Fatal Accidents

Four individuals lost their lives in different parts of the city, including Sadashiv Peth, Padmavati, Wadgaon Flyover, and Wagholi.

Pune: In a series of tragic road accidents, four individuals lost their lives in different parts of the city, including Sadashiv Peth, Padmavati, Wadgaon Flyover, and Wagholi. The victims included motorcyclists and a pedestrian, with police registering cases against the responsible drivers.

Speeding Tempo Kills Motorcyclist in Padmavati

A speeding tempo collided with a motorcyclist, Vijay Shankar Relekar (55, resident of Ambegaon), in the Padmavati area, leading to his death on the spot. The accident occurred on Pune-Satara Road, near Swami Vivekananda Statue, on Wednesday (February 12) night. The Sahakarnagar Police Station has filed a case against the tempo driver, and further investigation is underway.

Fatal Crash Near Wadgaon Flyover

In another incident, Shubham Shukla (36, resident of Baner-Sus Road) lost his life after crashing into a stationary private travel bus on the service road near Vadgaon Flyover. The accident occurred in the early hours of February 13 at around 1:30 AM. A case has been filed against the bus driver, Digambar Balasaheb Shinde (32, resident of Malad, Mumbai), at Sinhagad Road Police Station.

Senior Citizen Killed in Sadashiv Peth Accident

At Phadke Chowk in Sadashiv Peth, Rupchand Sadashiv Ghone (80, resident of Laxminagar, Parvati) was fatally struck by a speeding car while riding his motorcycle. The Parvati Police Station has registered a case against the car driver, and an investigation is ongoing to determine the exact cause of the crash.

Hit-and-Run Incident in Wagholi

In a hit-and-run case, a pedestrian, Vitthal Balaji Jamdade (46, resident of ST Colony, Wagholi), was struck and killed by an unidentified vehicle in Wagholi on February 12 at around 2:00 AM. The Wagholi Police Station has filed a case against the unidentified driver, and efforts are being made to trace the vehicle involved.
