Katraj-Santosh Nagar Sees Criminals Paraded After Public Disorder

A group of habitual offenders aged between 20 and 25 had been repeatedly committing crimes, disturbing the peace, and attempting to instill fear among residents.

Pune: In a bold move to curb rising crime, the Ambegaon Police publicly paraded notorious criminals on the main Katraj-Santosh Nagar road on the day of Holi. The action was taken against individuals involved in acts of vandalism, violence, and public disorder, who had been spreading fear in the locality. The residents expressed their support for the police’s decisive action.

Police Take a Tough Stand Against Crime

A group of habitual offenders aged between 20 and 25 had been repeatedly committing crimes, disturbing the peace, and attempting to instill fear among residents.

To send a strong message against such criminal activities, the police organized a foot march, parading the criminals through key locations, including:

  • Katraj

  • Santosh Nagar

  • Sachai Mata Chowk

  • Bhagwa Chowk

  • Hanuman Nagar

  • Shani Nagar

  • Jambhulwadi Road

  • Panyachi Tanki Chowk

Senior officials, including Assistant Police Commissioner Rahul Aware, Senior Police Inspector Sharad Zine, Assistant Police Inspectors Bhojling Dodamise and Priyanka Gore, along with other officers and personnel from Ambegaon Police Station, were present during the operation.

The criminals were arrested just a day after committing an offense on March 12, following swift action by the police. Several of them already had serious cases registered against them at Sinhagad Road, Bharati Vidyapeeth, and Ambegaon Police Stations.

"These offenders had a history of serious crimes. After their recent offense on Wednesday, immediate action was taken against them on Thursday."
