Pune: A minor altercation escalated into a violent assault in Kothrud, where a rickshaw driver and his accomplice attacked a biker and his friend. The rickshaw driver has been arrested on attempted murder charges, while his accomplice has been booked by the police.
The victims, Akshay Rajan Lonkar (29) and Lalit Adhav (24), were traveling from MIT WPU College towards Paud Road on Friday, March 7th, when they got into a minor verbal dispute with rickshaw driver Sachin Mahadev Misal (48).
The argument soon turned aggressive as Misal verbally abused them and summoned his accomplice, Samrat Vijay Sanas (27), to the scene. Once Sanas arrived, the situation took a violent turn.
Both attackers punched and kicked Lonkar and Adhav mercilessly. During the assault, Misal hit them on the head with a key, leaving them injured. Following the attack, the assailants fled the spot.
The injured victims immediately informed Kothrud Police, who launched a rapid investigation. Misal was tracked down and arrested, while Sanas remains booked under relevant charges. The case is currently under investigation.
