Pune: Following veteran actor Rahul Solapurkar’s statements about Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and Bharat Ratna Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar, a heavy police security force has been stationed outside his residence in Kothrud. The security includes riot control units and the Vajra squad, with approximately 25 to 30 police officers and personnel maintaining round-the-clock vigilance for the past nine days.

Barricades have been placed along the road from Jai Bhavani Nagar to Kishkindha Nagar, leading to a tense atmosphere in the locality. The prolonged police presence has caused inconvenience to residents of nearby housing societies, including Garden Villa, Ganesh Project, Kirti Malini, Sulakshana, Lakshmi Kavach, Chandrakamal, Navrang, and Tridev. Local citizens have urged authorities to find a swift resolution to the situation.

Nitin Kadam, a local businessman, stated: "The barricades have been in place for the past 8 to 10 days, causing problems for elderly patients, children, and those visiting private clinics in the area. Patients undergoing physiotherapy and those with mobility issues are particularly affected. The overall situation has become serious."

Rohan Ubhe, a resident of Kothrud, shared: "Commuting has become difficult for school-going children, office workers, senior citizens, domestic workers, and patients. The heavy police presence has led to daily struggles, and traffic congestion occurs when parents drop off or pick up their children from school."

In response to these concerns, Sandeep Deshmane, Senior Police Inspector of Kothrud, said: "Approximately 25 to 30 police personnel have been deployed for security. While we acknowledge that residents are facing some inconvenience, they are cooperating with us."
