Pune: A shocking twist has emerged in the case of lawyer Sahil Dongre, who had earlier alleged that he was kidnapped and assaulted at Dive Ghat. After conducting a detailed investigation, Hadapsar Police have now claimed that Dongre was not kidnapped but was injured in a drunken motorcycle accident.

Advocate Sahil Dongre, the lawyer for Dattatray Gade, initially reported that he was abducted and beaten. He alleged that he was forcibly taken to Dive Ghat, where he was physically assaulted. However, police investigations, CCTV footage, and call records have contradicted this version of events.

The Night of the Incident

On March 17, at around 10 PM, Dongre and his friend Aniket Maske were seen at Sagar Bar near Pune’s bus stand. Maske later told the police that he left the bar and went home, while Dongre remained outside. Between 11:30 PM and 5:00 AM on March 18, CCTV footage and technical evidence confirm that Dongre was present in Dive Ghat.

Emergency Calls and Accident Report

At some point during the night, an emergency call (Dial 108/102) was made, and a police officer at Saswad police station received an alert. However, due to an active fire emergency, the officer could not respond. When the police control room later contacted the caller, the individual informed them that a motorcyclist had fallen from his bike and injured his eye.

Medical Treatment and Police Investigation

The next morning, on March 18, Dongre himself called 108, stating that he had met with an accident. He was then transported to Saswad Rural Health Hospital for treatment. At 9 AM, despite his injuries, Dongre arrived at Hadapsar Police Station to file a kidnapping complaint. However, he did not mention receiving medical treatment for any injuries. Assistant Police Inspector Kudale then instructed officers to take Dongre to Sassoon Hospital for a medical check-up.

Police Conclusion: No Kidnapping, Just an Accident

Based on the primary investigation, the police have now ruled out kidnapping. They state that Dongre was intoxicated, lost control of his motorcycle, and fell, causing his injuries. Sahil Dongre remains under treatment at Sassoon Hospital, and further investigations are underway.
