Lonikand Double Murder Case: Three-Year Fugitive Arrested by Crime Branch

The fugitive has been identified as 23-year-old Rugved Jalindar Walke, a resident near Perne Toll Plaza, Pune.

Pune: A key accused in the infamous Lonikand double murder case, who had been absconding for three years, has finally been captured by Crime Branch Unit Six.

The arrest was made under the Maharashtra Control of Organized Crime Act (MCOCA), and the fugitive has been identified as 23-year-old Rugved Jalindar Walke, a resident near Perne Toll Plaza, Pune.

The breakthrough came after police officers Rishikesh Vyavhare, Rishikesh Takawane, and Sachin Pawar received a tip-off through an informant that Walke would be visiting his home.

A team was immediately formed, and upon visiting his residence, they found Walke and took him into custody without incident.

Walke had been on the run since 2022, following his involvement in the murder of Prathamesh Kumar Shinde and his father, Kumar Shinde. The father-son duo was killed with the assistance of Walke's accomplices.

In addition to this crime, Walke has a criminal record involving charges of murder, assaults, and illegal possession of firearms, with cases registered against him in various police stations.

The operation was led by Senior Police Inspector Waheed Pathan of Crime Branch Unit Six, along with Assistant Police Inspector Madan Kamble, Sub-Inspectors Ramkrishna Dalvi, Sambhaji Sakate, Ramesh Memane, and

a team of officers including Rishikesh Vyavhare, Rishikesh Takawane, Sachin Pawar, Sameer Pilane, Balasaheb Tanpure, Ganesh Dongre, Suhas Tamberkar, Pratiksha Pansare, and Kirti Mandale.
