Pune: To accelerate land measurement processes and ensure timely completion, the Maharashtra Land Records Department has decided to equip all surveyors with advanced rover systems. This move is aimed at addressing the growing backlog of land survey cases across the state.

Faster Surveys with Advanced Technology

The state government has set clear deadlines: 90 days for regular land surveys and 30 days for expedited surveys. To meet these targets, the Land Records Department is introducing advanced technology with the support of the Survey of India.

Seventy-seven Continuous Operating Reference Stations (CORS) have been established across Maharashtra. These stations enable land surveyors to obtain GPS readings in just 30 seconds, significantly reducing the time required for land surveys. The readings are received through a rover system and displayed on a tablet, streamlining the entire process.

Implementation Across 355 Offices

The Land Records Department has 355 offices across the state, and rover systems will be provided to these offices, prioritizing talukas with the highest number of pending survey cases. Officials from the department have stated that this initiative will expedite the resolution of delayed cases and improve efficiency.

With the adoption of this technology, land surveys are expected to become faster and more accurate, benefiting both landowners and the administration.
