Pune, 11 September 2025: As the monsoon begins to retreat, Maharashtra’s very own Valley of Flowers, Kaas Plateau bursts into life, painting the Western Ghats with a stunning palette of purples, yellows, blues, and pinks. Located near Satara, this UNESCO World Natural Heritage Site is now in full bloom, making September the perfect time to witness nature’s short-lived masterpiece.
Often referred to as the “Kaas Pathar,” this high-altitude plateau comes alive for just a few weeks each year. It’s home to over 850 species of flowering plants, many of which are endemic and found nowhere else on Earth. Rare blooms like Karvi, Topli Karvi, Sonki, Aboli, and Pandhara Bakuli can be spotted here during the peak season. No wonder it's a hotspot for botanists, photographers, and nature lovers alike.
