Maharashtra: 16 labourers killed, several injured after truck overturns in Jalgaon

The labourers died after their papaya-laden truck overturned shortly after midnight near a temple at Kingaon village in Maharashtra's Jalgaon district

Jalgaon: Sixteen labourers died while five were seriously injured in Maharashtra’s Jalgaon district, police said on Monday. According to several reports, the accident took place when a truck carrying labourers overturned.

According to various reports, labourers who lost their lives in the accident were from Abhoda, Kerhala and Raver in the district, according to the police. The labourers died after their papaya-laden truck overturned shortly after midnight near a temple at Kingaon village of Yawal Taluka in the district.

The police further stated that five labourers have sustained serious injuries and are being treated at a rural hospital. The reason that caused accident is yet to be known.
